ok let me explain whats happening. i installed my new 2.1 shortblock today. when i go to start it as soon as it starts something is stoping it. i can turn engine over by hand. its almost like the starter is stoping it from starting. i changed starter with a friends car and doing same thing. anybody ever had this problem. any ideas are welcomed and appreciated. merry christamas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
battery relocated to the rear. but had jumper cables on the old battery terminal up front. had 2 sets of jumper cables one up front and one in back @ one time. idk im stumped

Ok. I had a mini battery and the internal connection on the post was bad. Couldnt start the car or even jump it.
it will start and turn over. but as soonn as it trys to start up. something is **** blocking

Check your timing. I had the problem once and timing belt was off. Luckly didn't bend anything. Or try the jumper cable on the starter. Maybe the wire is oxidized.
timing is dead on. checked about 10 times lol. might try jumping starter.
You can turn it over by hand endlessly and it's turning smoothly and freely?
How old is the fuel? High compression build? Could even be pre-ignition causing it to kick back, seen it before.

Fresh fuel. 9:1 compression

Always easier to rule things out. Check ground from motor also. Make sure it's grounded properly since motor was replaced. Easy things to miss
ground @ trans connected. also ground on intake manny connected. dont think theres any other grounds
Just for ****s and giggles, have you tried bypassing the starter solenoid and seeing if it cranks continuously then?
Thought behind that, just to clarify, is that it could be a fault in the solenoid trigger circuit, be it the ignition switch, starter relay (I believe it's a normally open relay tied into the immobilizer circuit?), or the wiring itself, the latter being the least likely on a vehicle this new.
Again, ****s and giggles. As stated, the more random-*** crap we can rule out the better.

Or push start :-P
tried somethings again. starter grinding bad on flywheel. stock flywheel. doesnt matter which starter i use. very sporadic when it grinds. sometimes doesnt grind @ all.

cmspaz is right... rule out the easy things before tearing things apart.
now when you say "something is stopping it" does the motor fire at all?
do you have a built head? and are you running stock injectors, and what tune are you running? you could be have a problem with pre-ignition of the air/fuel mixture
