We need a HTA3586 vs 6266 comparison!

I've preferred Forced Performance turbos for the last 10 years, but this new 6266 seems impressive. Most likely I'm going to use a V-band HTA3586 but haven't ruled out this new Precision turbo yet. I've read plenty of discussions on FP quality vs Precision and can't really determine a clear winner. If you have any data to support your preference between these two turbos, post it here!

My friend has had 2 precision failures in the last 5000 miles. I have an hta86 with 5000 miles and it still tight and never leaks oil. FP FTW here.

i cant remember the last time i heard of a ball bearing fp failure, its all the journal bearings that are failing. the hta86 should be very reliable.

And my 80mm journal bearing Red has been flawless!

Precision had issues before but as far as I know they have had a good track record of reliability since then.

Bump! Would also like to see a comparison, maybe a 6266-6766 to on a 2.0L.

I'd go 6266 for a 2.3 setup. I wouldn't even consider going HTA3582. A 6266 will be a little laggier than the the HTA3586, but I 'think' it will make more power. Buschur Racing went 9.04 on the HTA86 and 9.1 on a 6262. AWD Motorsports went 8.9 on a 6262. I would only assume the 6266 would make more power with a little bit more lag. I wouldn't be worried about lag since you're running a 2.3. I'll be running a 6266 on my 2.0 very soon.

3586 and 6266 make similar numbers with similar spool. The 86 will still come out on top though I feel based on the testing I saw with an Evo X. Then there is the issue of the ceramic ball bearing center section and its lifespan. I know any turbo can and will fail but it seems I hear about far more Precision stuff.

What about the new 6262 CEA that looks on paper the best option? Quicker Spool + More Power.
HTA86 and "old" 6262 with the right options were Very Similar and i can't see why a 6266 would be worth having as how much more power can you squeeze from a 62mm wheel, i always thought the 6265 was deemed a flop?

How about a pte 6266 sent to fp to have the Hta86 comp wheel put on it. Now you have s turbo with newer turbine technology with the killer Hta comp wheel. Anyone think that will work

I love the power PTE makes but I hate that the turbo's die very fast , I went through 5 or 6 of them in a 3 month period they just dont last long especially running high boost.
