AMS gt30 hta kit
Hi Guys
can anyone help me. Ive recently purchased a AMS gt30 hta kit. I believe not many were sold as a hta and im struggling to find any results on this turbo?
I cant find a single result on this kit in the UK as thats were i live
can anyone share with me their results? Its going on 2.2 stroker conversion as im currently in the process of upgrading from a 2lts with a 7460r to the new set up
Thanks in advance guys

It will be good for a solid 500 whp and similar torque depending on setup, boost and fuel. Similar to stock spool, its a nice setup for 500 ish power levels. I have the non HTA.
what increase would you expect me to see bhp wise over my existing turbo the HKS gtii 7460?
Thanks J
Hi Tonks,
I take it you bought that kit off Ross?
I'm not sure AMS ever offered turbo kits with a Forced Performance turbos... most their turbo kits feature Precision turbos and before Precision I think they used normal Garrett's.
The 3076HTA is said to flow 57lbs/min - on a setup with good VE I would expect 450whp on V-Power working the turbo safely within its efficiency.
Run it at 2 bar on a good setup and you should see 470whp as a few lads on the MLR have already done. Anything over that and you'll be operating the tubby outside of it's designed operating limits - which I suspect will shorten its life.

Thanks mate. ross has told me that for a limited time you could get the kit with the HTA.
Would you expect me to make something between 425-450 on a DD? See you sold ur turbo also lol
I would have thought 450 atw on a Dynodynamics is definitely doable!
You're going for a 2.2L now aren't you? You should be able to get that easy

Yes I've sold the little GTii before I even had chance to push it and see what it was capable of. I figured as the car is about to be mapped I may as well stick the turbo I wanted on rather than having the car mapped twice.
Ah right I didn't know that - I'm sure Ross is correct then

Yeah having a 2.2 installed in it 8 days time and going to TRL on the 12th for mapping.
Will run it on a dash of meth also so should be a quick
ive recently tuned my hta30r. my kit is a slowboy tho. it made 490/412 stock block/head on a VD.
check my thread....https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...lock-head.html
good luck with your setup. the car will def rip
what fuel/boost do you plan on running with the 2.2? your def in the 500 whp range

Check out page 4 too, 3076 pushed to the max around 40 psi make 600/600 on his car. must be one of the best graphs ever on a evo.
this turbo on your 2.2 should be just about perfect.

I take it you have the first gen AMS kit ? Way back when the HTA line was available from AMS it was with the .63 turbine housing in the t3 5 bolts "ford style"
The Buschur comparo was with .63 and .82 (40psi) Tial Vband housing which flow a lot better.
Buschur reported no discernable difference up to 35 psi between the .63 and .82 a/r though.
I'll be swapping to the HTA 3076 in a few weeks time, only waiting for the housing to get swaintech coated.
Here's the rundown on my setup,
2.3 BR motor with stage 3 head
AMS first gen kit with HTA 3076r, .82 a/r
Looking to do 35lbs or better
272/272 HKS (people think they're junk but Im not willing to sacrifice the low end pickup which I used everyday for the upper end bragging right which I may or may not see but a couple time a year. I usually do not go any higher than 7500rpm.)
MAP stage 3 ported intake w/ BR TB
I'm hoping for 53x-55x whp/52x wtq
