Do a compression test. Pulling the injector harness or spark plug won't tell you there's a problem with that system just the cylinder. Mine did this on the road course and melted a piston. Oh check the plug too. That was also melted. The "pop" you're referring to makes me believe its not an injector. Be mindful if you messed something up in the cylinder, running the engine is causing more problems. You don't want to be out a turbo too. Good luck!

One more thing, if the plug is wet, it's getting fuel. The fact that you had a lot of gunk in the injector leads me to believe that you were clogged, causing that cylinder to lean out, per the info you gave us.

Hey all. I recently was sitting at a red light and all of a sudden the car is running like its only on 2-3 cylinders. I have not been driving the car hard at all lately, and was just coming back from a civilized cruise. No pop noise, just went lean on the wideband, and sounds like a subbie. I did a boost leak test to ensure no hoses blew off. That's fine. The car did not throw any CEL's. I pulled the plugs today to take a look. If looking at the engine from the front, I pulled the plugs in left to right order. 1&3 have slightly rounded electrodes, and also show some black, almost burn marks where the boots connect as if there was a short. I disconnected the DLI and went to stock connections to rule the HKS DLI out, and it still does it. I have not pulled the injectors yet, but can hear/feel each ticking. I cleaned the connection where the boots touch the plugs, and put a small amount of dielectric grease on them, but still does it. I pulled the boot off#3 while idling, and the idle did not change, so I think the problem is with that cylinder.
Any other ideas or thoughts?
