well i hope so, he had the engine all ripped apart when I left.
Funny thing is, if the light wouldn't have went on I wouldn't have noticed a thing wrong with the car.

Even so, 99.9% of the time you will hear audible ticking/clicking if a valve has been damaged.

With the 4G63, you hear audible ticking from the valvetrain on most undamaged engines. I've seen this on a joke along the lines of... You might be a DSM owner if you can pick your car out of a lineup by its valvetrain noise.

Both of my Mitsu's have had lifter tick, the easiest remedy I have found is Restore 2 in 1 stuff that is supposed to improve compression on older engines. anyways this stuff always stopped the ticking after oil changes
Tell them you want to keep the bent valve. If you get it take pictures and post them.
Also while in there tell them you want a full list of all test performed and parts replaced for this job. Keep good records! Cover your *** for the future.

The service techs ordered me a whole bunch of parts, the only thing visibly wrong is the bent valve. But, to be sure they are replacing a ton of parts. I will post a list when I know what.
I would assume that it was an intake valve if it backfired correct? It sounds like one of the guys at the dealership gave that poor thing a hard 20 miles. But after this it should be good to go!
