Let me know if we can help you out man! We are in Lewisville and work on nothing but evos.

The stock 9 turbo is my personal favorite as that's what I run in my daily driver as well with e85. Can't beat the spoolup and response!

In your case, if E85 is not readily available, you can easily have your tuner set you up with a nice map switching option with pump-93/E85. Do not worry about internals at this point. You have no idea how fun 400whp/375wtq can be on that stock IX turbo. I believe once you get a tune, you will be able to identify the shortfalls in the set up at that point which you should share your thoughts with everyone so that we keep you on the right path. As for tuners, Jorge and the JMS Racing crew are fantastic. If you are closer to Dallas, KevinD and Evolution Dynamics are great as well.
Thanks for the welcome, and for your support it means alot to hear that someone will actually lead me on the right direction with my setup. Im really glad i joined this community...the people are helpful and kind.
Ive been told by alot of members that by switching to E85 will definetely help me reach the 400 mark. And, since this is what im aiming on my DD i am going to end up making the switch. But, there is one problem i worry about. For instance i live in the Houston area, which means whether i go to JMS or to Evolution Dynamics its going to be a 3-4 hour drive.
Thats not really the problem though, the problem is that if i install injectors and fuel pump; will it be safe to drive those 3-4 hours without a tune?

Thanks man i probably will end up driving 3-4 hours for a tune. It don't bother me I just want someone that deals with evos on daily basis to work on my car.
I just have a question, Are you guys open on Sundays? This would be my only day since i work M-S.

IX turbo and supporting mods is one of the most fun turbos around.

hope you didnt pay too much for it, you can get them pretty damn cheap nowadays.

i run a similar setup

Yeah thats what i hear. Others on this forum don't really think so. Some think its a waste of money in a way. Well i got one from FP. I was thinking the other day of sending it back so they can do a porting job, but im already anxious to install it so i don't really want to wait any longer. Especially if its going to take a month. < not saying they will, but if they are caught up on other stuff they probably will since they need to take care of their stuff first.

yea thanks to the guys from Extreme Turbo Systems I got a nice piece put together.
I paid 1g I believe. I wanted to get the 20g turbo, but didn't know if it is actually what they say it is. I read alot of threads where some believe there was never a 20g made from manufacture

Real cool to see everyone chip in with their advice.

I have a 9 turbo in my closet waiting to swap out with my 8 if I decide to keep the car . Wasn't sure what size injectors would be sufficient for the switch to E85?
I have a decent list of bolt ons

1000cc injectors will be plenty with the stock IX turbo.

Thanks bud. If I go for the switch then it looks like I could finally get the chance to pay STM a visit

Not a bad setup, but depending on supporting mods and your cams it might be a little tougher to get to 400+ on pump. Im on an evo '05 evo viii turbo and was at 360 or so on 93 octane and on e75 with a conservative street tune im just over 400. Both are at identical boost, spike around 27 to 28 and taper to 22-23. Did u order a stock wastgate actuator? I would order like a 25lb one especially on ethanol to help get a tad better torque spike and maybe hold slightly more pressure up top with the iv turbo. Ive been thinking about doing it, but have talked myself out of it, no more wasting money on stock frame turbos and internal gates. Next purchase is either gonna be a gt35r or maybe a PT 6262....
Let us know how ur tuning goes!

I hear you man its just the stock IX wastegate. But I'm doing this little setup for now till i pay it off. I got two more years, and then I'm going to think about going with a turbo kit...nothing too big just something over 400+ area. But then again i want to stay with the stock like spool up so i might purchase an FP turbo. Maybe FP Black ball bearing turbo. What i plan on doing is enjoy the IX turbo, and save up for an FP then send this one to get it ported or turn it into a Green. What do you guys think?
