Absolute max psi that can be run through an 8 turbo with my sig mods on 93? (Minus bbk of course !! )

 

VIII turbos dont really like more than 30psi. Ive heard and read of IX turbos blowing at the 33psi mark. One guy I believe was able to push his to 36psi or something for quite some time. VIII turbos are even less as far as I know.

 

I ran 30-31 psi on my Evo 8 MR stock turbo 7 years ago on methanol. One tuner/vendor from florida ran 34psi on his Evo 8 Mr stock turbo. I had my car tuned on the dyno with Dynoflash and pretty much stopped making power after 28psi. We are talking about peak boost too because you can't maintain more than 21-22psi by red line.

I also ran 30-32 psi(peak) on my stock Evo IX turbos on both Evos IX that I owned . I hope this helps.

in australia no one runs over 24psi and that on e85.
i always wondered how you guys can run so much boost. anything over 24psi is just hot air

 

I ran 30 psi on mine on pump 93 and it lasted for about 6 months

 

thanks for all the quick responses guys. I think I'm going to run 28psi peak in 4th gear.... as second is two psi lower and third is one. I so rarely see high boost in 5th gear, I think the occasional 29-30psi spike will be ok. Cheers.

 

Ok as long as its re tuned for those levels. Im going to assume you know that though lol

 

i ran mine at 30psi on pump+methanol...if its just pump gas...id stick with like 25-27psi...
