Tomei ARMS turbo max boost and spool question

I just installed a set of Tomei ARMs bolt on to my car and have two questions

1. it seems like the turbo is only able to spool max 24psi. Although I tried to turn up duty on my EBC boost won't go up beyond this. Anyone with this turbo had this problem? I'm aiming to boost at 29psi (2bar) but unable to do so thus far

2. I seem to have lost quite a bit of torque from 2500-4500rpm range when compared to my OEM evo8MR turbo... anyone with same issue?

Thank you

Looks like they had it go beyond 24psi

I have tuned 3 Tomei equipped Evos, I won't say it's bad, bear in mind it was introduced back in 2008, it was good for its time, I'd say it equals or slightly surpasses the old, non-bb FP Green. I managed 26+ psi which was reasonable for a 93oct tune.
The low end loss of torque is quite expected, I'm afraid, it's a slow spooler for its size. I suggest that you work on the tune to minimize that issue.

To improve spool increase WG spring pressure by adjusting the overall length of the threaded actuator rod.

The FP BB HTA Green, the CBRD BB BBK-Full, and the MAP EF 2.5 are all superior turbos in comparison to the Tomei ARMS turbo.

Can't argue with that. The only nice thing about the turbo is the compressor housing's engravings.

I made 420 whp. With 94 octane and watermeth. I wasn't able to run more than 22 psi due to the internal wastegate. I have the big blue diaphragm wastegate with the tomei logo.

Going external wastegate would be my next modification.

That's some decent HP! Care to list your other specs/mods? I've managed 26+psi using an internal turbosmart wg.

Here is my build thread. I hope to make minimum 440whp with an external wastegate and a new o2 dump. The turbo should be maxed around 450-460whp on stock block and pump gas

In my 7 I have 430HP/570 Nm. Spool is slower than stock 7 turbo about 500 rpm.

new numbers with this turbo.

couldn't make past 440whp on Pump Gas, even with a Tial 38mm external wastegate, i could only run another extra 2psi

Evo9 440whp/335wtq - Tomei ARMS M7960 + Speed Density + Built Engine - Pump Gas

Impressive number! A couple questions:
Is your engine 2.0 or 2.3?
What was the spool RPM range, above zero boost & full boost?

I also wonder what is the spring rating on your wastegate?
