Im building a 2.2l utilizing a 94mm crank, 2.1l pistons, 150mm rods and a 63 block which I think puts the rod ratio and piston speed between a 2.0l and a 2.3l

Typically because 2.4l motors can't rev and stay together at 9k plus when drag racing. Most builders don't prefer using the 4g64 block because of less cylinder wall meat but some say it's still plenty.

well, if i ever go into another build, i think this time i will go with a 2.3 4g63. the 4g64 has a lot of power but i dont like how alien it seems to be.

Alien? Dont quite follow. Its been being put in DSMs with the 16V head since 98, its pretty known tech. Heck it was factory in 99 in the Spyder (non turbo though).

Besides running a waterpump spacer and having weird timing gear marks I don't know of too much more differences over the standard 4g63 in terms of install

I believe you just use an oem mistu pump from a certain year outlander and it requires no spacer

yes the 4g64 requires tapping for the mivec line
I originally had the 4g64 in my galant, so when I built the motor, I have the same displacement that came with car from factory, actually its the factory block for mine. 2.4LR with an evo 8 head. If you get nice cam gears, timing isn't that far off. And if you degree your cams like your supposed to, its not the complicated at all. yes the outlander water pump will work. did I use it? no, i used the spacer.

Does this include the current production Outlander? I see that the standard engine in most 2014 Outlanders is a 2.4 liter, but MSN Auto lists the stroke of this engine at 3.82 inches, which is 97 mm. Is this a 4G64?

This is 23psi though not marked on the 499 run.

Speaks for itself I think, 300 ft lbs of torque at 4400 or 5100? Hmmm hard choice
I have been wanting to contact you about having an engine built but I am limited to forum actions as I am a new forum member😔
