Ok first off, it's NOT my transfer case, definitely the rear end. The rear end overall sounds noisy and kinda rough while I'm driving and on decel makes a light grind. I've done some searching and I've read other people having a death whine type of noise but not grinding. I don't hear it at all while accelerating. Any input? I had STM flush all of my fluids about a year ago but haven't touched it since. I basically just want to make sure it's not going to lock up or something and leave me stranded. Again, it's not super loud but I definitely hear it.

I've been around evo's for a while now and have never heard a rear end problem, that's why it's raising a red flag. Don't know if it's normal or serious.

 

I'd suggest pulling the drain plug and seeing if you find chunk style metal.

 

I've seen a pic of an exploded version of the rear and a while back and it looked basically like a bunch of clutch disks and a ring/pinion, is it normal to get a chattering/grinding noise on decel from the plates rubbing together slightly or is any noise like that a bad thing? Any other input anyone??? And I'll pull the plug tonight and take a look, just have to get new fluid first.
