I have the 264/264 idel is ok car pulls better from 5500 to redline I was told that cam gears would yield another 12 whp. Other than that I have had no problems. If I could go back I would have gotten the 269 works which seems to be the best combo.

All three are good choices. For you, it may just come down to cost. The idle for 272s is pretty lumpy, so I suggest you stick with 264s or try out Works 269.

Try the 264in/272ex set-up by HKS. This along with other mods comprise Vishnu's Stage 1+ and it dynoes close to 300whp with Cali 91 octane gas. JUNs are race cams and I think its hard to get them to idle (even the 264s) with a stock set-up since they have way too much lift compared to stock or HKS.

I have the 269/269s from WORKS. I've heard that they're some of the highest build quality cams around (I think the blanks are forged billeted steel). Although I've never seen them myself, they are installed in my car and perform beautifully.

Of course they do chew through gas a little more than stock But I guess that's pretty normal.

Many brands are billet, guys. You should also look at Tomei and Piper. Nothing is wrong with a bit more lift.

What would be any differences in performance by going with HKS 264/264 or 264/272???

HKS Camshaft for Evo VIII - 264 Duration
Expect a fairly rough idle. Generally, these cams are too unfriendly for every day driving, but do provide the ultimate in power gain.

That is an exact quote under the 264's from HKS. Are they really that rough?? I thought onyl the 272's were rough. Anyone with 264's on IN and EX or 264 IN and 272 exhaust let me know how they are. I would love the power gain but not for a rough rough idle. Thanks

I like the Tomei 264's. Higher lift than the HKS cams.
