Cylinder 1 injector Not Firing-Please Help Me!

I took my evo to get tuned on friday and we could not do any tuning, because when you start the car the engine is only running on 3 cylinders. Cylinder 1 is not firing and we have tested to make sure the car has spark and it does. The injectors are brand new but just for the hell of it we switched a couple injectors and the same issue still persisted with cylinder 1 not working. We checked if the injector was getting voltage and it is getting the same as all of the other injectors. It seems that the #1 injector is getting voltage just not getting the signal to fire. We also tested another ECU and problem was still there. Does any one know what the problem could be?

I know you guys don't salt in CO, and that rust is the main cause for this here in MN, but any time we've seen one injector on a car go down it's been the resistor box. Road grime, salt, snow, water, etc finds its way onto the top of the resistor box (which should be mounted differently IMO) and the top rusts out and lets moisture in. For some reason only one injector drops most of the time, and it just all of a sudden goes hard misfire with no warning whatsoever.

Regardless, definitely worth checking out, it's the little silver guy with 4 wires coming out of it on the firewall damn near straight back from the FPR. If you can get your hands on another one (borrow if possible) give that a shot.

Injector not working HELP!

i think your talking about the small silver box that is held to the fire wall with 2 10mm nuts securing it to the fire wall. the box is located on the left rear side of the engine and is mabe 3-4" long and 1.5"wide. I tried borrowing a friends and cylinder 1 is still not working. Do you have any other ideas?

From what you're describing it sounds like a wiring issue. I am assuming you have aftermarket injectors with aftermarket injector clips? Have you ever ran this setup before without issues, or first time? If you are getting constant voltage to the injectors, I would check the ground for injector #1.

I am assuming it is a wiring issue as well. The injectors I am using are brand new FIC 1650's. They connect with the stock wires, no harnesses or anything. Is there more than one ground for the injectors. I'am assuming the ground is the one located on the front Right of the valve cover, next to the cam sensor. I included a picture of where I thought the ground is located. Just to make sure I took the engine harness apart and the wiring to injector 1 had a small nick in one of the wires , so I fixed that but the problem is still there. Im hopeing the ground is the problem.

Well, you said the injectors are getting power to them. There are two wires for each injector. One wire is constant power and the other is a ground that is controlled by the ECU. The ground is what fires the injector. Try testing continuity between the injector and ECU. Also, you are positive that the #1 injector is not firing? An easy way to tell if it is firing or not is by placing a screwdriver on the injector and putting your ear up to the other end of the screwdriver. If it is firing you should be able to hear a pulsing/clicking noise.

How did you get there? Is that from compression test? 2 & 4 is a weird combo.
