I did search, I only found about 2-3 notchiness. Just did a clutch job. Drained trans and tcase. Trans had less than half a qt of fluid, tranfercase has less than 1/5th of a qt of fluid. Was boggled. Used 3qt of redline in trans, it now has a non squential notch. I'm not positive its a notch but I don't really think its a grind. When I put it into first gear it will sometimes make a really rough noise and feel be it doesn't sound like metallic grinding. Can using redline cause this? I could only find info on 2 to 3 and in general not going into first specific. Or could this be a transmission problem from having next to nothing oil?

 

I have heard about redline making things a bit rougher in the past but have had any problems any of the times I've used it. What clutch did you install? That could affect it aswell.

 

I didn't install a new clutch. My snap rings gave out and had to replace them. Clutch is a stage 2 exedy though.

 

Any ideas/opinions would be appreciated.

 

Maybe the clutch is dragging a little?

I've always put the redline cocktail of MTL/MT-90 in my car, putting the QT of MTL in first.
I've never had any issue aside from everything feeling a bit stiff when it's cold after the shep rebuild.
