clutch wont engage, hard to push in
on my way home from work tonight, I reach a stoplight. Do my usual, drop it in neutral and stop the car. As the light turns, I go to push the clutch pedal and it's stuck to the floor (slave cylinder at this point) BUT when I push the clutch off the floor, the pressure was so hard I could barely push the clutch in and get it to go into gear. With the car off, I can easily change to any gear.I haven't tried to bleed the clutch line yet since it's dark here now, will do it in the morning. Anyone ever have this happen? The car drove perfect with no issues whatsoever, no unusual sounds, etc. The trans was just rebuilt by shep about 6 months ago. my exedy twin hd was installed about a year or 2 ago. The slave and master cylinder are stock, ss clutch line and fork stop mod. any suggestions would be appreciated. It was so bad I had to get the car towed home.

About to workout, but checked over the car when it's actually light out. The clutch fork is in position towards the passenger side, however the slave cylinder isn't pushed against the fork, it's barely sitting in the center section of the fork. I can also move the clutch fork towards the driver side. Later today I'll lift the car up and check through the trans peep hole to make sure the tob is where it suppose to be. I can move the cylinder around with ease. I just don't want to remove the trans again so trying everything else before I drop it. The clutch pedal can be pushed down about maybe 2" with no resistance, but anything after that it get stiff and not about to force it.
*Edit*: My wife pushed the pedal in while I watched the slave cylinder. When she pushes the pedal, I can see the slave strike the clutch fork like it suppose to, but it doesn't push all the way into the floor. Looks like the slave cylinder is doing right (ordered a new one in case). If I push the slave cylinder all the way in I can move the fork back and forth with not much resistance. Guess the trans inspection hole will tell me more later on today.

I used the screwdriver and popped the tob out, pushed the fork and it clicked back in place. Does it still seem like the tob needs replaced? I just installed a brand new oem one like 6 months ago. Guess I'll be spending the weekend ripping the tranny out if thats what it looks like. I'm getting sick and tired of Evos lately........

This doesn't look right
While messing with the slave cylinder, I noticed some play on it. I was able to push the rod in by hand and when I went to adjust it, the "rod" part just pulled off, and the cylinder came out causing clutch fluid to pour out. I'm assuming this doesn't suppose to happen.
Exact same situation happened to me, it was my TOB, i just replaced to a whole new clutch kit. and I replaced the slave cyl. While I was at it cuz it was leaking clutch fluid and rubber part came off..I too am getting tired of dumping money into my evo :/ . Question. Did the TOB work properly after you fixed it with the screwdriver?

Nope, when I reset it, it just goes to the floor with no resistance now instead of being stiff like before. So I have to push it up with my foot. I ordered a slave cylinder and hope it shows up tomorrow morning. I'm avoiding opening the tranny as a last resort since the last time was a pita. To me, it doesn't look like anything is wrong with the tob, its locking like it suppose to ..either that or I'm refusing to believe it could even be that I'll spend my weekend dropping the tranny again
What gets me is that there was no warning, no sounds or problems driving anytime before this. Just all of a sudden it decides to do this out of the blue.

Thanks again for the suggestions, I'll try the slave and if all else fails, time to open up the tranny again. Fun stuff, at least it lasted an entire 4 months on the road.
