A few injector questions

I'm looking to get injectors that will be able to handle my future plans of doing e85, full bolt-ons, cams, and a bigger stock frame turbo (eg. an HTA green, FP Red, or BBK Full). So with that said I have a few questions.

1. This might sound stupid so don't laugh but can you use injectors from an evo 10 in an evo 8? I found someone local selling RC1200s for a really good price so I was wondering if I can use them or not.

2. Out of all of these injectors which would you buy? RC 1200, FIC 1050, or FIC 1250 BlueMax? The FIC 1050 would be used (2k miles), RC 1200 I could get used or new, and the FIC 1250 would be new.

3. If you have any experience with the previously mentioned injectors, how did you like them? Any problems?

Thanks for the help guys!

Never came across this question but im gunna say no its a completely different motor and different intake manifold so my guess is no. but as far as your setup i think (pte's, fic's are the best) from 1150-1350 will take good care of you. I'm going with a similar setup and im going with 1150s. Asking your tuner is always a good idea too and getting a plan together instead of getting some and then realizing they werent the right ones for your setup

i would go with anything besides rc injectors. theres a thread floating around with video on them being flow tested against id injectors, and the rc's at a certain pressure just seize up and stop working period.

I would go with Freddy's suggestion of FIC's 1250 nozzles, or their 1450's. The I.D. fuel injectors are very good but considerably more expensive than the FICs. What are your plans for upgrading the fuel pump incidentally?

For the time being, a Walbro 255 or 400 if I feel like I am up to doing the mod to get it to work.

Emery from STM recommended I go with FIC 1050's. Doing a similar upgrade, FP Red and tuned for 93, but should be big enough to later run E85 if I want. Also running a 255lph pump.

What are your ENDGAME HP/TQ goals???

1.EvoX=4B11 vs. Evo VIII=4G63... Emphatic NO!

2.New is always better than new... unless you're trying to save a few nickels and dimes. Again it depends how far you are trying to go HP/TQ wise. Usually anything beyond a 1200cc Low Z Injector idles like s#!t. Jus Sayin How much are you trying to spend?

3.I only personally know Precision and FIC, I have never had any problem with either of these. FIC's are much better than RC. I have used FIC quite a bit and I have heard more bad than good news about RC.

Well since I know I'm not going to have a built motor for a while and want to keep this reliable as the car is my DD, I would say a tad bit over 400 hp and high 300's for tq? I would think that would be enough to have a fun car that is mainly run on the street while seeing occasional drag strip/track use.

Hmmmm, all of this said you should be fine with any of the injectors that you listed"(RC 1200, FIC 1050, or FIC 1250 BlueMax)" If 400 hp on pump is TRULLY ALL you want. However nothing sucks more than having to do the same thing twice... and I think I am on my 3rd set of injectors. So if you even think there is going to be a built motor and 500+HP #’s in your future set yourself up for success early. And if you've got the extra scratch go big 1 time and call if a wrap.

For me since I knew drivability and efficiency are paramount for me, and I knew I would eventually end up going to speed density I upgraded from my Low-Z Precision 1000's to FIC Hi-Z 1100's. I know it seems like a small jump but the Hi-Z 1100's flow more like a 1250 injector and they have already been flowed tested and showed that they can support upwards of 600HP (which is prolly more than my EVO will ever make) so I am pretty sure this will be my last injector. The Idle/acceleration/and performance of them is superb. None of the sputter/stutter and crap idle that 1250, 1400, 1600 and larger Low-Z Injectors are notorious for. Jus Sayin Regardless best wishes with your upgrades Boss.

Looks like there is some good info here already, glad to hear the strong support of our injectors

You can also play with our injector flow calculator to see how different hp goals will change your injector needs: http://fuelinjectorclinic.com/flow-calculator
