boost controler is turned all the way clockwise. Does it make a differance which line goes into which port on the boost controler

So, let me make sure that I got this straight as I don't have my car in front of me at the moment. Is that aluminum hardpipe at the forefront of the picture to which the DV is connected via a short length of rubber hose, the upper intercooler pipe? Then the other large port on the DV is connected back to the intake hose that fits between the outlet of the maf sensor and the turbocharger's compressor housing inlet?

If so, then it looks as though the DV is connected properly as pictured.

Did you mention that your MBC is the Forge UNOS MBC?

Yup you got it right. Thats how its set up. Do you have any other ideas of why my boost is still low? i checked for leaks and didn't find any. I was wondering the routing of the tubes from the WG to the MBC would make a differance. They possibly could have been switched around.

When I refer to the knob being turned all the way in or down, I mean that the knob rotates into the body of the boost controller. When I refer to the adustment knob being turned all the way out, I am meaning that you back the knob out counterclockwise turning it out and away from the body of the MBC.

Doesn't the Forge unit have plus(+), and a minus(-) signs on it to help you figure out which direction of rotation adjusts boost higher and which direction of rotaion adjusts the boost lower.

Yeah it does i swapped the lines on the MBC and i hit 20 Psi. Now that i got that taken care of where should i set my boost at? The Evo has intake, exhaust, walbro 255 pump and a retuned ecu. Now im not sure how the ecu was tuned because it as well was done when i bought the car but the exhaust intake and fuel pump i did.

I am getting to the routing of the two hoses that are connected to the MBC, Grasshopper.

There are two ports on the body of the MBC. These are also called nipples(jajaja).

For our purposes, consider the adjustment knob to be located at the top of the MBC. Then the port that is located in a straight axial line and diametrically opposed to the adjustment knob would be at the bottom of the MBC, right? This bottom port is called the boost reference port.

The other, or side port is oriented at a 90* angle to both the adjustment knob and the reference port. We will call this side port the boost signal port.

The reference(bottom) port on the MBC should be connected directly via a hose to a nipple on the turbocharger's black, metal compressor discharge tube which is also refered to as the "J"-Pipe(This is your boost reference source.). Is this hose in fact connected in the manner that I have just described to you?

The side port on the MBC should be connected via another separate hose, to the port or "nipple" on the top of the wastegate actuator. Are the two ports on your MBC hooked up in this way?

There is no way of knowing how many PSI your Evo IX's ECU is tuned for. Do you have 91, or 93 octane gasoline available at the pumps in your area?

The best advice that anybody on here can give you is to get a tune. At least, that is the first thing that I would do in your case. So, as soon as you get the car running decently....GET A TUNE!

Since your car has an unknown mystery tune we don't know anything with regards to how much boost you can run. You are assuming that it is not the stock factory ECU flash but you don't know. As it now stands, nobody on here can safely advise you as to how much boost is safe for you to run. For the time being, I would limit boost to 19 PSI.

Ok, thank you again for helping me work this problem out. I'm up in the middle of wyoming and there is no place around that tunes. Any suggestions on a mail in type flash that would work good for me? I want something that will set a good tune for 5000+ feet in elevation because i sit around 6000 where i live

Everyone is going to give you different opinions about tuners. So, I can only tell you that I'd use either Chris Mellon at Mellon Racing, or Aaron and Lucas at English Racing for a remote tune.GL
