quick head gasket question

quick head gasket question

is 1005A700 (IX) head gasket direct swap for MN155760 (VIII) gasket. can it be installed on 4-8 engines without problems ?

anyone will confirm ? searched couple of threads, that say they are interchangeable for VIII, and wanted to double check

An ix head gasket will not work on an evo VIII.

actually wanted to use it on IV and afaik 4-8 heads have same pattern

Yes they are 100% interchangeable, the Evo 9 headgasket is just 5 layers rather than 3 layers of the Evo 4-8 headgasket.

Here is a pic that i did of "spot the difference" with thicknesses included (mm)

thanks for that pic mate. upper holes in your pic on IX gasket need redrilling or enlarging ? they seem bit smaller compared to VI gasket

personally i wouldn't touch it, just chuck it in.
it depends on what compression ratio you want to run, and if you've skimmed and decked your head the evo 9 gasket will help to bring the compression ratio back to what it should be.

There is definitely the rubber around the bores etc on the Evo 9 gasket, it's just not as dark as the Evo 6 gasket.
