Anybody have an overlay of a BBK-B and an FP Red?????

Very torn between these two turbos...And its been weeks of reading post after post..Trying to figure which one..Theyre both about 2500 so i want to make sure that i make the right choice..I daily my evo,and i also run e85 everyday...I want to see what i can squeeze out of the stock longblock...No cams just boltons.....And these are the turbos ive decided to check into.....They both produce good numbers with the least amount of lag i can deal with......Thanks for anyone that can help.....Justin

That's exactly the two turbos I'm also interested in. I looked for a comparison but couldn't find one...

What I know is the BBK-B has 62mm Turbine / 76mm Compressor and flows 57 lb/min.
The Red has a 67mm Turbine / 76mm Compressor and flows 60 lb/min.

The BBK-B should spool up quicker and the Red has better topend power because of a less restrictive turbine.

A big advantage is, that the BBK-B has a real genuine Garrett GT28 CHRA. Where there is no longterm operating experience of the new dual ceramic ball bearing design from FP.

Check my dyno results for the bbk-b at 28 psi I think you will find it very pleasing , I have basic bolt ons.

Its a great turbo. I wasn't expecting those numbers. We had the boost come on late due to my 6 Speed, the funny thing is that there is more left in that turbo beyond 30psi. I could do 500 easy (MD) at 35psi.

I'm extremely satisfied with my ball bearing Red. PM me if you want my dyno chart/mods list for comparison.

I'm running high boost (~30 psi) but we reached 440whp without really tweaking the timing. There is plenty room for more power, but I don't really want to push the limits of my daily driven 100k mile stock block.

I did that with my ported BBK-Full on E85.

I'm still tuning the BBK-B, but there is hardly any lag at all, just pulls longer.
I'm also on 93 right now, once I finish that we will be working on the E85 tune.

My buddy has a FP red, it is good also.

Im well over 100K on my block and we hit your numbers and then some, at only 28psi with the JB BBK-B. I'm willing to wager the BB BBK-B will just be nuts...However there is that BBK-C that Chad keeps mentioning

Now that I am writing this, I realized that the OP doesn't have cams..and I do. With that said it was 440 whp/428 tq on a dynojet with the following mods:

bb fp red, megan 02 housing, ported stock exhaust manifold, 3" tbe, fic 950cc, 255lph, ets fmic, S2 cams/beehive springs, arp headstuds

There is way more in that setup. Swap out those injectors, and get a Walbro 400lph .

Oh I completely agree about having more potential. Its just my DD and I didn't want to be on my way to work and have something give out. I was shooting for just over 400, and I figured that could hold me over until I had the time/funds to build a block.

I'm definitely not saying that the bbk is a bad turbo though, I was actually considering it myself before I picked up the red. I've seen people talking about the BB BBK a little, but haven't heard of the BBK-C. I'll have to look into it.

Drifting Away, that is pretty good numbers. just out of curiousity, is that on e-85 (referring to your sig)? I've tossed the idea around, but I don't really know where to get it around here so I just run 93 all day.
