Mini battery

Well I am ordering my UICP today and cannot decide if I want to go short route or not. Reason being the mini battery. I live in AZ so I am not too sure how good it will hold up. Are the batteries still not good for evos? I drive my car at least once a week. Help me decide! I like how it cleans up the engine bay, but dont want to be stuck jumping it alot.

personally man, id just buy a relocation kit, and put your battery in the trunk. Worth the money, and besides your pulling the battery out of the hot engine compartment, thus going to make your battery last longer. I spent about 300-400 with an optima red top and relocation kit. took a couple hours to install.

A properly relocated battery is perfect for the track. At least by NASA and NHRA rules, that is.

Dont you need a battery cut off switch in the rear?

i had a standard uicp long route. The throttle was a little laggy so i went to short route ets. the amount of weight saved is nuts and the battery starts every time. I'd not even hesitate. Just don't run heavy subs sound system etc. I just have head unit and stock speakers.

It moves heat away from your uicp, cleans up bay, removes weight and removes over 1 feet of piping and bends. It is the way to go

even if u do need a battery cut off switch there really not that hard to install. Ive seen a few how tos on here. Personally ive only been told one time to have a cut off switch installed at the drag event. You can mount a switch in the cab. But in reality most of us dont track every day or week, so put the battery in first then eventually install the cutoff switch prior to the track event.

Depends on what rule set you're trying to meet. But like I said, a PROPERLY relocated battery (which includes the cut off for certain events/sanctioning bodies) is great for the track.

What events are you trying to run?

I have been running the long route ETS recirculated for a year now and It is great.

I'm now going with speed density, so I ordered a short route with a tial flange so I can run my Synapse DV to atmosphere with the adapter flange. I am expecting a slight improvement in throttle response.

Keep in mind the long route may interfere with a aftermarket intake.

I personally think the Odyssey PC680 will give you no problems in AZ. Its the extended periods without driving that will kill the battery.

Good luck!

definitely go short route, amazing throttle response and de-clutters your bay. +1 on short route
