HELP! Symptoms of leak in I/C piping!

I just got my Evo back from having an I/C upgrade, piping upgrade, ECU, boost controller, cams, cam gears, springs/retainers, fuel system and a couple other things. I was driving home and I opened the car up in 2nd gear and let off. Then when I dipped into the throttle again, the car wouldnt boost. If I am REALLY light on the throttle, it will still drive and accelerate a tiny amount but it will not accelerate with boost almost at all. When I push the accelerator anything more than a little, the car bogs/surges and hesitates, it's hard to clearly describe with words but whatever I did, it was under boost when it happened. It idled like stock when I picked it up and after this happened, the idle became eratic and sounds like it wants to stall but it doesnt. I am thinking it must be that one the silcone connectors between I/C pipes separated from it's pipe. So far I havent found a section of piping with a bad connection but it's dark now and I only looked under the hood and in the side air inlets on the bumper and all of the visible connections are fine. Does this sound like a sealing issue with the I/C piping? Please post if you have had similair problems or know if these symptoms are probably due to my I/C pipe theory.

blew open the connecting hose

happened to me too.. check the connections to the intercooler.. the culprit is usually there .. with that hesitation .. its easy .. as most likely the whole hose is dislodged ..

Get the hydraulic clamps .. and throw away the cheap hose clamps ..

Tug on every connection because it sounds like there's one that may not be totally disconnected since you say it drives fine until you hit boost. Sometimes the positioning of the pipes will hold them mostly in place so that visually it looks like nothing is wrong. Also, you may want to check the vacuum lines coming off the intake manifold.
