Evo IX not running on all 4!!!

Hello guys,
My Evo IX '06 started acting weird the other day. I was cruising on the highway when I suddenly heard a different noise from the exhaust. I came to a stop sign and the car died. I had to put it in my garage asap. The car is definetly not running on all 4 cylinders, maybe 3 if not 2

Sometimes when I tried to start the car, it backfires (poof from exhaust)

I'm taking it to a professional this week to have him look at it.

I have already changed the spark plugs and also new coils. btw I also have a new IACV
The problem is still there

What could be the problem here?

Some of my friends said it could be the fuel system or congested fuel injector or something :/

All answers/input is very much appreciated

Here is the mod list for my car:

Shortblock:
Arias Pistons 8.6:1

Fuel:

Stock intake manifold
Stock throttle body
Turbo XS 3,5” FMIC
Tial 50mm bov

Did you check the timing belt? Are you throwing any codes? I would check to see if its timing related first then if not do a compression test. Also verify that you have the coils correctly installed

Installed the coils just like the other ones, probably going to do a compression test tomorrow, will check on the timing later today

If its misfiring there's a few things to cause it; air, fuel, ignition or timing. I'd start it and let it idle and pull one injector connector at a time to see which cylinder is missing. If idle gets worse with one disconnected then you know it was firing. If it idles exactly the same with one unplugged then you have a problem on that cylinder. Swap the injector, plug or coil from that cylinder and recheck the same way to see if the misfire followed the component you swapped. That'll help you eliminate the basics. If it misfires on multiple cylinders then timing or vacuum leaks would be the next basic check. It can be a lot of other possibilities with all the aftermarket additions but I'd always start with the basics.

The problem is that the car won't idle, it barely starts up. I have to be on the gas pedal so it won't die. When the revs go over 2500 or something, the whole car shakes a little bit
Gonna do the compression test possibly today, then try to see for sure if the coils are installed correctly, which I'm sure are.

Hey guys, thanks for your input

Did the compression test last night, the results:
#1 - 155psi
#2 - 155psi
#3 - 148psi
#4 - 158psi

Checked the timing belt and that is also good!

Took out the fuel rail and injectors, seems like O-rings and some rubbers on the fuel injector on cylinder #1 are teared up, and fuel spitting out somehow because there is fuel on the outside of the injector and also around.
Also spark plugs on cylinder #1(not wet) was different than on 2-4 (wet)

Going to have the fuel rail and injectors pressure tested as soon as possible.

I think the fuel injector on #1 is clogged/congested, so probably have to get a new one.

Where could I get Fuel Injector Clinic 1050 inj. 1 instead of 4?

Thanks again

Try contacting the company that makes them, I am pretty sure they can help you out.

Sounds to me like you skipped a little timing. Maybe your balance shaft snapped like mine did last month

Result!

Just to let you guys know if anyone has a similar problem or the car acting similar:

-I changed spark plugs
-New coils
-Pressure test (good)
-Checked the timing
-Sent the injectors to FIC for cleaning and testing and one came out flowing 21.4% lower
than the others (good service!)
-Last, my tuner wanted to check my computer (AEM EMS V1)

The problem is the ECU, it is done!

He swapped another AEM into it and was running and driving as smooth as a baby's bottom!

Buying a new AEM EMS soon and having the car tuned properly
