? about stock evo9 boost limit

just wondering what the max could be ran on this setup the reason im asking is i have a e9 with a walbro, tbe and hks intake kit. when i got the car it was running 24-25 psi i went 12.51 and noticed my afrs was getting fat at high rpm like 10.5-11.0. ive got a cable and ecufash software but havent messed with it much but noticed on the turbo it had a adjustable wastegate so i turned it out a couple turns now boost spike to 30 psi then falls to 26-28 and my afrs are great @ 11.5 -11.7 im going to wait till it cools off tonight to do some logs of knock but going off the wideband it looks safe im also running 93 pump.

30 is pretty high for that, running pump. Especially if you get ****ty fuel at a hoopdee gas station or if your tune isnt perfect, you could very well blow a hole in your piston like i did. haha I was running 25psi reliably for a few months and one day threw a rich fuel code and boom went piston/exhaust valve/spark plug. i'm no expert though.. just puttin in my .02

I have a similar mod list+a bit more and I never push boost past 25 psi. With no injectors and just a 255 pump I'm leaning way out at 28psi. 30psi and your also pushing your studs to the limit. I was told with the list you have to not run more than 20-25psi if I wanted the car to last at all.

When you log watch your duty cycle on your injectors. 30lbs is too high for stock.

Yep you need to check duty cycles on the injectors--the turbo is another story..every turbo has an operating range of efficiency and only build good boost in a range of rpm-with efficiency falling off on the low end and highend. Some will tell you they run 30+lbs others 19...thinking from all i have seen here--30lbs is about all your going to get and that puts you at the end of the turbos operating range of efficiency.. that is to say the more boost you run past this boost range will have a dimishing rate of return in power--so you won't get the same hp per pound as you got prior to this psi. See if someone has a turbo map and that will show the accurate range--

I wouldn't go over 28 psi on the stock turbo/stock injectors. Be very careful if you don't have much exp tuning, as I am learning, there is alot to it besides boost, knock, and afrs.

ok guys on my logs my idc was real high it got to 98% but ive seen higher idc in the dsm world. i have a set of fic1150s to cure that soon as i can figure out how to scale them. but one thing that has got me confused is my boost says 47 psi wtf.my gauge would spike to 30 then fall to like 20.i may need to calibrate or install a 4 bar,and i only picked up 2 counts of knock.
