Question Going E85

Found out there was an E85 pump near my house. I was wonder what is all needed to make the switch.

I have a walbro 255 and deachwerks 880s I know I'll need a tune. I was just wondering what else is needed or recommended. Headstuds? Better head gasket? Ect....

Thanx in advance!

Lot's of threads on this. Are those the only mods u have? Why did u need 880's if ur car is stock otherwise? Or are they not in ur car yet?

I'm doing the swap to E85 myself. I am on PTE 880s right now, and they will not be enough for my goals on E85, so I will be going to FIC 1450s. What are your other mods, as well as what are your power goals??

I'm also on a Walbro 255, but mine is the 255HP (high pressure) pump. But the regular 255 should be good.

Also, I am on stock headgasket and stock head bolts. I plan on keeping my boost under 30psi right at 27psi where I am now. I will eventually put studs in, but I am not half *** doing it and doing them one at a time. I will wait until my head needs to come off then put a Cometic headgasket and some ARP studs at that time.

Do you plan on switching back and forth between E85 and pump gas? If so, get a Tactrix cable and a small netbook.

You can find the Tactrix cables on here pretty often, and I bought my HP netbook off of Ebay BNIB with the factory seals still on it for $270.

I just got my injectors in the mail the other day, so I am anxious to get some E85 power myself.

And there are a good bit of threads on here about this, check the alternative fuel section out.

Good luck man!

ya 1000's would probably be enough, but not gonna have any room to grow. My 1200cc injectors are at like 80-85% idc on stock turbo with a 255. I am gonna need to go bigger though for my new setup. Head studs never hurt, but don't think its a huge necessity. People run stock head gaskets with lots of power. Detonation lifts heads.
