The power is something you won't regret for sure , I've had E85 users tell me that using it in the long run will eat the injector seals etc.

I believe they have different blends of e85 throughout the year (between 70% and 85%). The pump attendants don't know ****.
I guess it depends on the tune, but i was told there could be issues (running too lean) if you are tuned on 70% and then you put in 85%. You might want to look at a map switching device.
I was going to switch too, but after doing some research, i changed my mind. for now...

i think unless i am wrong you would run leaner on E70 than E85, the lower ethanol content makes for lower octane rating which would cause you to lean out. same as being tuned for 93 and run 87. I could be wrong though.

You have it backwards. Less alcohol and more gas you run more rich.

You will run lean if you are tuned for E-70 and are running E-85. With only 70% ethanol and the rest pump gas will have a lower octane than E-85. Your best best is to get tuned on E-85 and then have it all set up, then even when the switch to E-70 happens in the winter (if your region switches) you will just richen up a bit, which is much better than leaning out over a long period of time. You have the option of having a dual map also if you flash the TephraMOD, so just get the dual map switch from BR or another company and have both maps loaded so you can swap back and forth if need be, just make sure to run it close to E before filling up with the other fuel. I usually run 93 octane in the winter and then E-85 in the summer and for the track.

There's nothing to fear. Find a local tuner who knows what to do on E85 and make the switch.

50 map switch from jackof trades on this site. Go to a tuner will tune you on both octanes. I have been tuned for both (currently just working upgraded turbo for E85 first). I run E85 pretty much all year round except in the odd time I need gas and there is no pump close or when I drove to Florida last year.

Run it....its safer then Meth to me.

Did not read all, but takes a little more effort to start when cold out.

If my car is bone cold I let it start once and die (or turn over for a second or 2. Then I try again and it starts up every time.

From what I've read, most concerns go out the window with a Map switch

The link above may help you feel a little better about the switch. I am going to do the switch myself, I am just waiting to get bigger injectors.

Also you could consider buying one or two 5 gallon jerry cans with anti-spill caps for longer drives. I have two in my garage that remain empty unless I'm taking my car on a trip longer than 200 miles.
