just got mine all done by shep. generally you will need the trans built with a billet output tube and the transfer case built with hardened aftermarket ring and pinion and quafie or wavetrac diff.

No such thing as bulletproof drivetrain. This will never be a subaru. But you can give yourself the best chance by optioning up everything from shep's website. Billet output tube, stage2 or 3 tcase, quaife/wavetrac front diff, and REMing everything.

There are people that do fine with the OEM trans and tcase. I dont think there is such a thing as bullet proof esp if you drag race.

Yea rem's effect on strength is very debatable. Supposedly it decreases friction, heat, wear and fatigue. Which may or may not actually amount to something practically speaking. But its not like its going to add a huge expense to a full drivetrain build.

The other thing in the drivetrain that you should consider is the clutch. You said you are looking for 700hp, but your torque figure will be more important for determining what type of clutch to buy.

Plus you may want to have the rear diff rebuilt depending on how many miles it has on it. My tcase and rear diff are currently being rebuilt by shep.

The biggest thing is using the correct fluids. If you keep good fluids and change intervals the stock drive train is pretty durable. A Shep transfer case is also a good idea.

At 700 hp the clutch isn't even considered a part. It is a consumable like gasoline.
