Exedy Carbon Triple Plate Clutch Disc Thickness

Hi Guys,

Ive done many a searches with regards to this topic however there was no confirmed answers as most people sounded like they were guessing and or never mentioned what it was when they found out from proper sources.

Now i also have friends friend who works at Exedy here in Australia and he said the discs are supposed to be 5.5mm thick? Now as much as i'd like to believe it. It really doesn't sound right as everything i have read has been saying roughly 4mm so its a big difference so if anyone could confirm whether this is correct or give me the correct info that would be great.

Thanks,

Polo

I knew i was getting the wrong info...

Goes to show even though someone works there don't always trust their word.

And just to clarify all three discs are supposed to be the same thickness? As i have seen some clutches have different thickness on the triple plate.

I purchased one with the thickness at 3.96, 3.98 and i had to buy one new one. i called STM who called exedy and said that little of a discrepancy is no problem.

Btw the exedy racing team who does their tech support is gone this week.

I would have accepted the clutch having 3.96 and 3.98 thickness left however 3.00 , 3.00 and 1.90 does not give me any confidence in having it fitted in as pulling it back out straight away or even at 50 -100 miles would be ridiculous as labour costs money and so does time. The clutch was not by any means cheap to begin with to even consider rebuilding it as the with the costs all added up i may have just as well bought a new one and it would have been cheaper.

Anyhow i have been able to get a hold of the manual and it says

MAX 4.2mm and minimum 3.2mm
