No start after walbro install

Today I installed a new walbro 255, I backed out of the garage swapped in the new pump go to start it and it doesn't fire. I double checked all the connections and pulled the pump out and reinstalled it around 4 times nothing changed. I then swapped back in the old pump to see if the New pump was bad but it still didn't start wtf? If I crank the engine and then let off I hear the pump turn on for a few seconds. I pulled the line to the fuel rail and I'm not getting fuel. I'm wondering if there is air in the line, if so how do I get it out?

Any suggestions? Thanks

There is a black rubber seal on the bottom of the pump housing that you must make sure is seated properly. If not you can't get fuel pressure. I think its the piece that connects to the side of the housing so it is not the actual pump seal at the top.

Ok made sure it's seated, and it's perfect. The only time I can even hear the pump is at the end of cranking. I can't hear the relays clicking either.

I supplied Power to the fuel pump relay under the hood and it's working correctly. I confirmed the power to the pump while cranking, this is strange.

Did it start when you supplied it direct power?

Out of the tank I supplied power just to see if it works and it did. In the tank I don't know which pins are power and ground, I can hear the pump running I'm just not getting fuel to the rail.

Update:

I just applied power to the pump in the car while cranking and still nothing. This has got to be a pressure problem. Would air in the lines cause this? I've never had this happen with my other pump installs.

I am almost willing to bet your fuel system is air locked.
Remove the return line at the tank, and crank the engine until pure fuel is coming out.

Ok thanks. So underneath the car or on top of the pump assembly?

Its not locked. Just make sure the rubber grommet is not split. If its not split make sure you have the grommet sit just on top of the pump. Do not push it down on top of the pump. Essentially it sits between the housing and the pump, when you push the pump up into the housing, the grommet expands/fattens and seals. This happened to me the first time I changed my pump. Good luck.

The rubber grommet is not split. What do you mean push it down? I have it sitting on top of the spacer on the outlet of the pump. What did you do resolve your issue? Because I have pulled it out like 6 times to re check.

Is there fuel at the rail? Do you have a fuel gauge? Really need to know if your fuel pressure is right...33 is stock..after market FPR..42 to 45 Psi. There is a o-ring in the fuel sending uint...the white thing that houses the fuel pump. Did you take the black plug with the connected ground wire to it out? If so the o-ring may not be seated. If it isn't you won't have pressure to start/run the car. re-track your work...take the sending uint back out and have a look at things. Good luck!
