Evo 8 HS on a Evo 9 compressor housing
It seems this question doesn't come up to often. Not even google could help me.
The only reason I ask is my 8 turbo went bad. I'm not able to find a decently priced 10.5 hs for the evo 9 compressor side I just bought or when I do people buy those like their GOLD. Till I find that 10.5 HS or go on ebay for the 11.5/10.5, can I run my 9.8 on the 9 turbo for the time being. It wont be like this but for a few weeks if that.
Thanks and when people search maybe they will find this thread.
Also another question. Why was my turbo hitting 30lbs of boost on the stock evo 8 wastegate (no boost leaks found). It started to do it before it went bad.

As Yogi mentions, the 9.8 turbine housing per se, will bolt right up, as the VIII and IX are both configured with the same turbine wheel. In addition, that turbine housing will mate right up to the backside of the center housing and the flange will bolt right on up to your exhaust manifold and DP too.
The only fitment issue with respect to the turbocharger unit itself will be that an VIII actuator is not gonna work in conjunction with the IX compressor housing. You will need the IX actuator.
Of course you already know about the install kit consisting of oil and water feed and return lines as well as the IX J-pipe, right?
