Methanol safe thread sealant ? Meth. pump info. inside

Any recommendation ?

BTW, heads up to those of you using meth injection. The pump need to be replaced every 2-4 yrs depending on the concentration of your solution.
If you run straight meth. it would not be a bad idea to swap it every 2 yrs or so.
I run 50/50 and mine quit (from bad seal corroding the pump) at 4yrs.

What type of pump are you running? I always use 100% and have yet to have a pump completely fail. One did loose a seal and begin leaking but I sealed it and that was it.

The new style of Aquatec pump that Aquamist uses has been working great.

Using 100% silicon gasket maker can seal the pumps and prevent/stop leaks.

It's the older AMS kit which used to come from www.alkycontrol.com.
If you can replace the seal with the proper methanol compatible material, that's all you need to do every 2-3 yrs to be on the safe side.

Crazy... I never had to do it that often. I had to seal it once with my old surflow, it suddenly began rapidly leaking methanol. The Aquatec pump has been flawless. Actually now that I think about it I opened up the Aquatec and sealed it with gasket maker before installing it.

I always have run 100% meth.

Normal replacement for me and others that run it in the area has been around 8 months on 100%

I'm on my Third aqua tec pump.
If you monitor a flow gauge you start seeing the flow decreasing with these pumps. They don't actual leak to cause failure.

My failure did leak everywhere.

That is crazy that you are on your third pump. I have been running mine for 3yrs or so on 100% meth. I have not noticed any decrease in flow. AFR and Duty cycle have remained the same. No decrease in the amount of bars...

Are you using M1, M3, or M5? Where are you purchasing your methanol from?

I just noticed that you only picked up the HFS-6 around May 2011. You posted up about having some issues with the first pump and got another. Did you already have to buy another since then? You have barely even had the system for a year. It seems like there may be other issues causing it to fail.

Ya i'm on the third. The first pump was junk out of the box
The second was great until the past month. i've started getting a decrease in flow and my a/f started leaning out.
So I just put a new pump in last night.

Ryu on this forum has gone through a ton of pumps. He's bein using for about 5 years.

we use m1 . And get it by the barrel.
