An Evo owner is interested in the Denso iridium IK16 plugs I'm selling. Will they fit/work properly?

 

No, the upper electrode is to short for a proper fit, the EVO uses the Denso IW series. Also 16 heat range is much hotter than stock, not the direction you want to go in. The Denso part number for stock EVO plugs is IW22, I am currently running a cooler IW24 and they are working very well even for daily driving.

(Stock) heat range 7 = Denso IW22, HKS S35G, NGK-iridium NA
Heat range 8 = Denso IW24, HKS S40G, NGK BR8 EIX
Heat range 9 = Denso IW27, HKS S45G, NGK BR9 EIX

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, will the IW 22/24 fit the 9? I seem to remember hearing that the 9's plug is longer.

 

nope, there is another one specific for the 9

Sigh, figred as much. Funny how all of Denso's site and their 'online shop site', when you lookup by year make model they give you evo 8 numbers. I hope they correct that.
