You will need tuning if you mod your evo with exhaust, cams, intake, etc.......its the best way to extract the most out of your mods/upgrades....
Do some research and spend your money wisely...I'll admit I did NOT take the best mod approach to my evo due to a lack of research. I would have saved me time, money (at least a couple thousand dollars) and frustration of dealing with poor customer service because of my choices.

+1 on buying used parts on forums, most of the performance parts I have were bought here.
There's a lot of options on parts, I'd start with an intake and lower intercooler pipe, and full exhaust. I like ETS stuff but you'll get more for your money buying good, used parts.

I would suggest a ported oem exhaust manifold, otherwise you'll have to put the stock one back on to pass smog......and a complete TBE ... not just a downpipe....If you can get some good cams too...that will really open up your evo 8.
I have 280 HP on a DynoDynamics dyno...from Vishnu...it is a low reading dyno from what I've been told...so I would be over 300+ HP on most other dynos... Get a baseline stock HP dyno figure then again after you are done with your first round of mods.

New walbro ---> $50 - 65
New drop in filter ---> $15 - 25
Port your stock intake ---> cost 'time'
MBC ---> $25 - 45
Port your exhaust manifold ---> cost 'time'
Used O2 housing ---> $35 - 55
Definately LICP ---> $45 - 75
Tune (*support your vendors/ tuners on the site) ---> $200 - 400
Go to Vegas a blow ther remaining change, if you win big PP me some funds. GL.

Not saying don't do it...we are simply trying to bring light to the bigger picture of modding...

Not true...just make sure to hold on to your stock exhaust...trust me...at the very least, your cat. Intakes can be frowned upon too. A friend had to put his oem intake back on to pass the visual....
