to install or not to install

ok, heres the deal. they have an auto hobby shop in the base thats near-by my place. like 30-40 miles away. i have a complete ets intercooler kit thats been sitting in my living room for a hot minute, and tomorrow im going to the auto place to do some installing.

the reason why im brinigng it up is because this kit is a speed density setup, and while im not going to be installing the speed density intake (because i dont know how to tune it) i want to install the rest of the kit, which involves, as you may have guessed, a tial bov thats not set up to recirculate.

i know that when it doesnt recirculate the car runs like ****. i know that it idles terribly. i know that stuff, but, i am not sure when i will get another chance to install it. so thats my conundrum. should i go ahead and install it and run vented, or should i just wait so that i can get it tuned right after? it might be 4-6 weeks before that happens, and i would still have to install the kit.

i do have a block-off from atp for the recirculation port on the intake so it wont be leaking.

so what would guys do?

Wait for tune. Anyway without tune, you aint going to enjoy with your car.

Edit: are you going to let shop install? If so, evoD guys can help you.

just go easy on it and you'll be fine, even getting hard on it isn't going to really hurt it, you might backfire a bit if you do a full throttle run but the richness on cruising shifts and off throttle vents is minor. Don't drive hard till you get the SD tune done.

Plenty of evos running around with VTA valves....... Just a head scratcher as to why they put them on MAF cars.

My bad I saw you weren't installing the SD intake and assumed you were going to stay on MAF.
