I need ideas as to why it wont crank over. Battery seems to be good. Grounds seem to all be connected. Fuses are good. I am out of ideas.

Lets start from the basics. Are you sure both the crankshaft and camshaft aligned correctly?

Thats exactly what i was thinking???

Can you turn the engine over by hand?? which should always be checked before trying to start a new engine.

i'd double-check crank and cam sensors and log them with oscilloscope

It seems to me like it is. The mivec cam gear is half a tooth off due to the taller deck height of the 2.4 block and i used a adjustable cam gear on the exhaust to match up the line on the cam gear with the valve cover. Could it be that the mivec cam gear is empty of oil and its not centered or how ever that works?

Yes the engine does turn over by hand freely. I do not start it right away. I always let it crank over with no plugs in it and disconnect the fuel pump to build up oil pressure on a fresh rebuilt engine.

Shes out of gear. Could it not start due to me messing with the clutch switch wires? I just spliced them together so i wont have to hit the clutch every time i start it.

Gotta be worth a try putting it back to how it was, by the sounds of it it will be something small causing it not to start

No, the switch only prevents the starter from engaging.

Have you checked for fuel and spark? There could be a million things causing a no start...go over everything and triple check all connections.

Possibly, but you are in a better position to check than I. Next step would be, as everyone else mentioned: Check for fuel and spark: injectors, plugs, coils, starter, wiring.

Don't hesitate to double check anything. I know even for my cam installs I sometimes misalign important parts.

Edit: forgot to mention, apparently you're supposed to degree them approximately 3.5 degrees. One entire tooth is about 7 degrees. But then again, the MIVEC cam is a bit different isn't it?

have a second set of trusted eye's look at it... You've probably been trying to figure this out for a decent amount of time, all it takes is some other person to step in and look and go "oh there's your issue"

Never mind. Got her started. It was the clutch safety switch. Cranked it over for about 30 seconds. Plugged the coils in and she fired right up and built oil pressure to over 100psi right away. Fixed the vacuum leaks and let her heat cycle. So far no coolant or oil leaks and she idles perfectly at 850 rpm with the old 2.0L tune on the same injectors.
