Throw out Bearing Stuck... Tried everything

Ok, I was hoping to send my trans out to shep tommorow.. But, I can't get this throw out bearing off for the life of me... I already have the trans out.. Had to take off the 6 bolts.. I have now been sitting here trying to pry this damn TOB off for the past two days with no success..I have tried everything under my sleeve reading over all types of threads from here and other forums with no success... I read a couple of threads with people saying to cut it out? But i have no clue what to cut and where to cut. If someone could instruct me that would be great.. I would like to recover the PP without screwing it up.

Thanks,
Kevin

Try pushing the TOB towards the pressure plate while looking for the retaining clip on the end of it. (inside pressure plate) If you compress the wave spring enough you can pop the clip off, this same senario is how the clip pops off when you don't have the fork stop installed.

Thanks for the reply, but the clip inside the pressure plate doesn't even budge lol. I tried pushing the fork both ways and i got nothing. Even when apply pressure to the pressure plate then compressing the fork... I think im SOL

Sounds like your wave spring is damaged then if you can't move the TOB a little, prybars will do that.

If the springs are already trashed you can try to break them out so you get the movement back in order to access the clip.

Lol, trust me i have tried pry bars then a pry bar with a Flat Head on top to get more lift. Nothing at all.. The PP is wobbolly as hell and has a lot of play, but wont break free... I am probably going to ship it as is and hope shep will help me out with it. I appreciate the Help!

Thanks,
Kevin!

It's all about the angle...first time I did mine, it tooks 3 seconds. Second time, it took me an hour and never got it. Dragged my whole longblock to my shop with the trans still attached and it took the owner 3 seconds to take it off.

If all else fails, unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel. You can access the bolts through the clutch fork hole. Just remove the rubber from the fork hole and reach in with a 12mm socket, a swivel, and an extension. There should be a total of 6 bolts. Just unbolt one and turn the crank with a breaker bar on the other side to get to the others.

I actually just ran in to this today lol, I was trying to get to the clutch fork bolt thats holds the clutch fork rod, but no luck. Ended up just popping that ring off mentioned in post 2. I believe exedy makes replacements, if you trash the ring.

Not trying to be an ***, but i already said i had the trans out of the car.. Had to cut an Allen key down in size to make it fit through the hole lmao..

And to hendrix, i was going to but my luck i would damage something else lol.

So i called shep up and they said they would take care of it for me. Gotta love them.

Thanks

Just replace a friends clutch and had to use a dremel to cut the pressure plate fins
