Clunk Noise when hard shifting after new clutch

I just had the stock clutch replaced with a Exedy HD Stage 1 Clutch. I let it break in 600 miles and then i ripped on it in 3rd gear and when shift fast into 4th gear, it made a very loud clunk noise. It never made this noise with the stock clutch. Is it just from the new clutch engaging harder than the stock when slamming throught the gears?
I feel like i have to granny shift it now to avoid it when ripping on it. I know its a different car, but i could shift my galant vr4 alot harder with a shot driveline and it wouldn't clunk as bad. Is there anything that will help with this besides different style of shifting?

Yes.. That's normal. Its coming from the rear of the car correct? Its the rear diff you're hearing I think. New clutch will bite harder and make you hear that sound..

you can replace bushings and that will stop it. Mine does it even on a stock clutch with 100k...

This is what you need bro. Kind of a PITA to do. My mechanic did mine for me while it was in the shop getting some other work done.

Diff bushings for sure. Not only will they solve the noise problem but they'll make shifting easier if yours are bad enough.

PM me if you need a quote.

Either one is a good choice. I have the energy suspension set for the rear diff but I have Torque Solution carrier bearing bushings for my driveshaft. Love them.
