just did drivetrain fluids and..
I used diaqueen from the gallon bottle so i dont really know, i pumped in intervals and waited for whatever air and fluid to settle and kept doing it until it leaked,, im second guessing myself but im **** about stuff
yea the previous owner deffenetly over filled it a bit, i should have nothing to worry about i filled it on a lift, i just hope its not used to all that gear oil and then i put the right amount and its to little.
Normally you fill up the trans/tcase/rear diff when the car is level so if you remove the fill plug (manufacturer recommends that you let it leak out because the fluid is supposed to sit below the fill hole) HOWEVER after an in depth conversation with trevor from shep trans, he told me to use a little extra gear oil than what the manufacturer states this applies for when you start to make more power than stock. In my case i dont own an evo YET however im in the process of buying one but i do have a mid to high 500hp 2g awd dsm and my trans calls for 2.3 qts of mt-90. Instead of using 2.3 qts of mt-90 i use 2 qts of mt-90 and .65-.7 qt of redline light shockproof gear oil. for added protection. for tcase and rear diff i use redline heavy shockproof .15qt more than manufacturer recommendation and so far i have a smooth shifting tranny.
PS: syncromesh is trash and will ruin your tranny.

I always overfill all 3 a bit. Its better to avoid air pockets with a bit of overfill. Many threads on here, and the trans shop site instruct to overfill the diff and tcase. Especially the rear diff plate mod. It depends on your use of the car too.
The best compromise is mentioned by previous poster of doing the change, going for a drive and then checking the fluids again when warmed up. This way you can top off and you have cleared an bubbles. (On a lift you could do that without going anywhere).
The most important thing is to check and change that stuff frequently. Don't worry so much about a few ounces here or there, especially if you don't track the car, just concentrate on doing it frequently. That way your plug magnet shouldn't look like that anymore either. Yikes!
