Also, people get real touchy about their fluid choice. EVeryone comes up with cocktails they swear is the end all be all. Even I had one of those complex mixtures back in my WRX days. Essentially it doesn't apply to the OP though. At least I believe, based on lots of reading and discussions that stock fluid is best for non track duty Evos. The characteristics are best for all around driving and some canyon carving. Once you move to drag or track abuse, stepping up to the engineered oils can help reduce stress on the metal that you are causing by violent shifts or extreme high continuous heat. (metal doesn't like either).
Again, most important is to change the stuff frequently.
thanks for clearing up man! the oem tranny fluid didnt help my syncro problem therefore once i found redline mt85/90 which "fixed" it, i always swore by their product. But your explanation and reasoning are all on point!
