Hey guys, just picked up a brand new oem evo 9 t-stat for my build and was wondering what on earth the little ball on the t-stat is for?? Is it to allow very minimal flown when the t-stat is closed?? Whats its purpose?

i think thats to line up the t-stat on the housing..take the old one off and check it out.

 

Oh, makes sense, I never thought of that. I will have to check it out, the one on my stock engine I have never removed and I bought a new one for my new built engine that didnt come with a t-stat.

Just checked and it is definently not for lining up the t-stat on the housing... hmmm

 

It's supposed to keep bubbles from getting trapped when your burping the system.

 

its called the jiggle pin and helps bleed air as was said
