...The Evo *will not* mess up with these pulleys...
It will do faster, however, with intakes, improper tuning, excessive boost, big-boost kits, etc.
I look forward to hear what experienced pulley-users have to say...
you really don't know anything about the 4g63..... and it shows... go ahead and put a non-harmonic balanced pulley in your evo and let it get messed up.................
but for everyone else please don't put a non-harmonic balanced pulley into your evo.... and if you question me go ahead and email the big guys... like dave B, dan C, jeff hill ect...............
I want to know where you are getting your info.... I'm getting mine from the professionals... where are you getting yours from

...Well, *they are* already installed in my EVO (not only the crank, but Alternator and water pump). Your comment is just another one in a pile of anecdotical, non-factual, non-quantitative reports of pulleys performance. Mine is based on YEARS (
) of continuous use of these pulleys (three and counting). Therefore, if my experience is positive (as many others), I think I could share them, right?
"but for everyone else please don't put a non-harmonic balanced pulley into your evo...."
....For everyone else, I can report that these pulleys have only given me smooth, flawless performance (idle+acceleration) year after year, both in *old* 1991 NA 4G63, as well as in state-of-the-art versions of the 4G63 (such as the EVO's), and make sure you ask references from users that have multi-year experience of continuous use of these pulleys, instead of relying and avoid fact-less assessments of their performance.
"and if you question me go ahead and email the big guys... like dave B, dan C, jeff hill ect..............."
...The issue on hand *is not* about "big" or "small" guys. It is about calling for long-term users of these pulleys. You do not seem to be one of those, therefore, why don't *you* try to contact your big brothers and bring factual/quantitative analysis of the pulleys performance, instead?
Happy racing!

this is where many of the shops out there differ
Ask 10 places that have worked on a fair amount of DSM's out there, I bet you'll get 5 pro, 5 con or close to it. I know I have used on on my GVR4 since I built the car, and never had a problem at all in 4 years. We have done them on countless 1G and 2G DSM's also without incident. To me the biggest reason to PUT the pulley on my GVR4 was the fact that the stock rubber layer of the OEM pulley seperated, causing my T belt to jump a tooth, snapping my balance shaft belt and nearly wasting the motor. I got lucky in that the valves never made contact with the pistons. That was ll it took for me to put a 1 piece pulley in the car and glad I did.....and also removed the balance shafts as well.
My rationale for seeing no reason why one cannot run a lightened pulley...simple...look how many use a lightweight flywheel on a DSM, or the amount of people who have done single and twin plate clutches (all of which are significantly lighter than OEM, without incident. Many have said the stock pulley incorporates a dampener - others will tell you that this is nothing more than a thin piece of rubber desinged to quiet the overall engine operation. But as I said, I have largely found it to be a case of who you ask.

To all you non believers of the lightened crank pulley. My Evo 8 picked up 15 hp (in the power band) and 20 lb ft of torque with just the crank pulley. 6K miles on this pulley and no problems. Think what you want. Everyone says Buschur says this, Buschur says that. There are plenty of other DSM tuners out there that recommend them. I've personally seen some of the Buschur Evo stuff and what I saw was not very good quality.
THINK WHAT YOU WANT, my pulley works great, I can't speak for anyone elses car, but I was standing right there when it was dynoed before and after. No knock and the results spoke for themselves.
