QM 8 leg clutch issues. need some advice.

hey guys. as you know i bought the new QM 8 leg clutch. well i been driving the car around for a week or so now and i have probably 200 miles on it. from when i installed it and test drove it i had it adjusted to grab about 3/4 of the way up the peddle travel. ''i like it grabbing high''. anyways it has slowly moved its way down and now grabs at the bottom. so i again gave it another few turns to bring it back up. today the car got tuned and again i had to adjust it and the adjustment is all the way as far as it can go and the clutch is still grabbing at the bottom. i still have full peddle travel but it is grabbing nearly the second i lift off the peddle.

what in the world is going on here. anyone with any help?

im trying to get to the track ASAP before Ohio and dont want to cause any issues with the clutch

let me re phrase this. when i say the peddle grabs at the floor i mean when i push the peddle down it grabs as soon as i start to let it back up. the peddle has its full travel. it does not stay to the floor when i press the peddle. it comes back up. its just where it engages and disengages

you might have crankwalk.

as clutch material seats in the pedal engagement point should rise from floor

You would have to check for crankshaft end play.

I re bled the clutch. Also while someone pushed up and down on the clutch I looked at the crank pulley and it didn't move at all. So that's the ghetto way I checked crank walk.
The clutch still is grabbing mega low.

What was your initial clearance when you installed your clutch?

Qm told me to just install it and that I didn't have to measure anything because it was a stock crank. So i don't know. I feel like I'm gonna regret that

you have to push/pry crank pully toward motor (toward flywheel) first. then watch pully when clutch is depressed. engine not running.

when engine runs the crank self centers. if there is excessive play the slave will have to push crank sideways first. then there is not enough travel left to disengage pp all the way. clutch will engage with pedal near the floor

pulled the pass front tire off. pryed the crank pulley pushing it towards the clutch. then had the clutch pressed. there is zero movement that my eyes can see. even when i pryed it it didn't move.

i think i can rule that out.

thank you for that bit of info though. i never would have thought of that. very useful info for sure to anyone else. i was told to bleed it yet again. maybe there is an air pocket in there? im not sure but im gonna bleed a good quart threw it and see what happens.

i have the adjustment rod literally on its last thread and the engagment is just shy of half way on the low side. my peddle travel is like a foot long. HAHA.
