Sparktech COP CDI vs Non-CDI

can someone help with why should i upgrade to the CDI version.i am in the process of a new build and going with LR2.4 and 6466 and hope to get close to 900whp.

i currently have the old school Sparktech non-cdi and i believe non-sequential COP setup.i see guys putting down 900 on the non-cdi,but are they rarity or are they to good over 40psi and 900whp?

also i have an AEM ems,so if i am going to upgrade shouldn't i go ahead and get the Pro-14 since it is actually a 4 channel sequential or is the pro-12 2 channel plenty?

i rarely see the 14's,but it seems like the way to go if you have an aftermarket ECU,so 2 plugs don't share the same channel.

is the CDI overkill or is it necessary over 800whp?

what do you guys think?also ar ethe 4 channels plug-n-play like the others or will i need to re-wire it to the AEM box?

thanks

I've never had the non-cdi version, but I did run the sparktech pro12 setup for a while on my old setup. It ran fine for 2 years but then I began to have some random misfire issues. I suspected the m&w box but it was out of warranty. Since I had to replace it, I just went all out and ordered the pro 14 setup. Car has run perfect since. I'm also running AEM. You will need to rewire it coming from a noncdi setup.

I'm sure others could give a better explanation of the difference between the two. What I do know is ER made 900+ whp on the non-cdi : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-ignition.html

i saw that and some other guy made 954 with it,but i wanted to know if they were the rare occasion or if that is the norm for these.

also would the sequential non-cdi be better than the regular non-cdi?
