Hello Forum,

I am looking to add 75 whp to my Evo 9. I currently have exhaust (downpipe back w/o a cat), Buschur intake, Nisei Intercooler and pipes. Tuned @ Speed Element my car made 300whp / 290 wtq. I would like to add a turbo, injectors and retune. Can I get this power level? I am avoiding cams (may not pass smog} and E85 (no stations nearby). Will I be able to keep some bottom end, so it will still be fun on the street?

Cams would be a primary adder-- how come you are concerned about passing smog with cams but not worried about NO cat-- really? BTW it will pass with cams.

 

2.3 L will be a lot of fun on the street.
If you are looking at gaining 75whp, you definitely need a turbo. Probably more than the green, a red or EF4.
The camshafts wont cause you to not pass emissions. Its the tune.

 

I can swap the cat and stock intake back in under an hour, and the car passes with flying colors, cams are a different story. So just adding a turbo / injectors alone would not get me to the 75whp? The tuner I spoke with said the cams are not garanteed to pass.
