which intake/inlet pipe??

hi guys, i know this topic has been done and i have read a few threads but there have been no definite answers. i am thinking of changing my inlet/intake pipe from my maf sensor to turbo from the rubber to either a silicone/aluminum pipe but am unsure which to go.

i have read the aluminum pipe can mess with the maf sensor due to vibrations as it doesnt give room to flex/play. i also have cams, and was wondering if this is true or not and whether or not i should just go with a silicone replacement over the metal pipe.

any feedback or personal experience would be appreciated. thanks , cheers !

Can look into speed density and remove the MAF altogether.

will the ets intake mess with the maf since my cams DO make my engine move quite a bit i notice(esp when warmed up).

(edit: i also note i have a hks smf intake in a hks cf box which im quite fond of and dont want to remove****)

i dont know much about removing the maf sensor / putting speed density in ?? :s

If you have issues with your engine moving a lot, then get stiffer mounts.

Just get a nice inexpensive silicone intake and call it a day. Usually can be purchased used for around $100 or less.

I have a standard Samco intake that looks almost identical to any other brand of silicone intake. Hasn't really given me any trouble. Just replace the worm clamps with T clamps and shouldn't have to worry about anything beyond that.

MAP Generic Silicone intake - $109

T-Bolts $3 each

Any reason in particular? The stock MAF has been proven to support well past 500hp.

You dont need T-bolt clamps on the intake. It doesn't see pressure/boost and using T-bolt on it is not needed.

This is my Samco intake had it for years and still looks great. Fit and finish is easily the best.

Bah, I must have not been thinking correctly. You are 100% right.

just curious also.. do any of you guys have a silicone intake/inlet pipe yourself and is it hard to install.

i have a few friends with wrx's/sti's and they say its a real pain and had it done at a shop, but im not sure if it was difficult due to fitment of their pipe/engine position or the silicone being hard to fit on itself??
