Comparison between the Perrin and Samco. Before I got my hands on these I was under the impression they were pretty close in size. I'll be running the AMSoil Filter with the Perrin if I don't do the hacked airbox mod.

^^^ Perrin is bigger but ends up tampering down to the same size regardless. Wouldn't it really produce any gains over the Samco?

It's very easy to do. I wouldn't worry about having a hard time installing it.

I always liked and ran the Injen intake with an AMSOIL cone. Spool up and response were really good

im from aus and there is a 'plazmaman' brand which can be shipped to me. they make a 6ply one........ or a local performance shop which sells a samco one for a little more.
tbh i've heard of ppl using samco so would it just be the safer option (in terms of quality assurance) ?

the only reason i wanted to get a pipe was bcos from my cone intake > exhaust this was the only part of the car that was still standard. but besides some no name silicone brands the samco one is going to take a few weeks to arrive and cost $200 if i want it as im from aus.

i am starting to think i may not even get it anymore, esp if it makes no gains ? and doesn't even make extra noise lol ?
would i need a retune too? if so thats an easy 'no' for me lol.

well problem with the subaru guys they have more parts to remove to swap on intake pipe and filter going from a stocker, ours is so easy its not funny. If you cant understand the basics of installing an intake dont even try to install this. But if you cant install an intake, im really suprised. Theres plenty of how tos on here, ive swapped an intake and running the car at idle after within 10 mins....easy, just make sure all those hoses on the old one go to the ones in the same spot on the new intake pipe.
