I bought the car used it has a full exhaust, some cams, a turbo timer, a electronic boost gauge which seems to be set at 22psi, a cone intake and thats all. So I dont know if im pushing any power at all but the thing pushes you back deep into your seat when the turbo finally spools.
Doesn't matter how much power you're putting out, that's not what causes the manifold to crack. It's heat and heat cycles that do it.

Isnt heat made by power? The more power the more heat?

Most of us live by the "buy nice or buy twice" motto when it comes to buying parts for our Evo's. Why risk cutting a corner on a cheap part that could cause harm? However manifolds dont really cause harm they just crack... but to help with your consideration of the megan racing manifolds. My car had one on it for like 50k and no cracks showed up. However I since picked up a Shearer Fabrications manifold and the quality difference is unbelievable.

Well are the OBX and the megan ones one in the same. The only reason I mention OBX is because I use to have a 4g eclipse the OBX was considered the best when it came to 4g eclipse stuff so I was wondering if there evo stuff is good or considered **** since the evo market has much more premium items than a 4g eclipse would have.

I've never once heard obx referred to as "the best" in the eclipse/talon world....

Another thing to take into consideration, is people feel anything and everything sold on eBay is a piece of junk, they dont realize eBay is used to sell items, eBay is not a manufacturing company... However, if you're comfortable with running a company who buys a well manufactured companies product, and replicates it cheaply then by all means go for it.

I heard the early versions of the Megan manifolds are much better then the newer lineup. I'd search the boards here and see if you can find a decent used manifold thats not a cheap reproduction. Just a thought

My car came with a megan. cracked 3 times. That was 3 times too many. Port you OEM one or bu ya BR ported one. if you want to get every ounce of power out of your OEM frame setup tubular is the way to go.

I buy stuff off ebay all the time, just not exhaust manifolds for my Lancer Evolution. I mean really, it's only holding your turbo in place, how important could it be? Don't replace great factory designed parts with some back yard junk made by some 14 year old kid in China.

I wasnt telling him to buy a crappy manifold, I was saying look for a KNOWN companies manifold that is sold in the classifieds? However, I use eBay a lot, not on important parts though... every performance impacting/engine mod I buy the best. No sense risking anything..

But if its like little things... Dress up kit... Rear strut tower bar... Ebay it is ha

Your money will go farther in other places, as far as increasing power.

The stock piece isn't too bad, actually. I would say get an aggressive porting done to it and then get it ceramic coated and you'll be golden.

All I have to say is STM. Check the video (14secs) that clearly shows stock manifold on their stock block 9sec car. Just port your stocker.
