TB sensors!!!

hey everyone, so i think only on the 03-04 evo 8's they have a (flapper?) valve. when i go to upgrade to a new aftermarket TB like the skunk 2 or something without the "flapper" would that affect anything? or would a tune simply compensate? thanks

Yeah, as I recall, there is a flapper in the muffler. I think you are the first person to ever mention this on evom.

Anyway, not important.

eeh, the flapper didnt do to much to begin with, so that is 1 reason it was eliminated on the 05 & later. im sure there was a cost savings as well.

with regards to the tune & idle control, depends on how solid or not the current tune is.

the 03 & some 04 iac's arent very good imo. the later 05/06 top-hat style iac's can control better / seal better than the 03/04 units.

if your having issues after tuning & fiddling of the new tb = high idle, try to get your hands on a 05/06 iac.
