I recently bought this M2 performance exhaust & am taking it to a place to get it put on. I remember a thread where there was a pic to show where this piece wet but can't find the thread now. Can someone help? I'm taking as much info to the place since they don't have much experience with Evos.

 

just look underneath when you take the old one out. i would assume on the catback pipe somewhere.

 

Do you see the "C" clamp that is also circled? Well that part wraps around the muffler and then that hook thing you are talking about is connected with the clamp and hooks into the exhaust hanger above the muffler. If that is not where it goes then I have no idea.

 

Appreciate the responses. I don't think this part is one that you go, "Oh, look. There's one that looks just like it so this one goes in the exact same place. Duh."

I know I've seen a topic about this thing before & someone posted a pic of how it goes on. I just can't find the damn thing now. I'm really looking for that pic or if someone has this installed & could take a pic for me. Some of the guys at the muffler place were questioning me about whether the Evo is a car or truck & they don't listen to anything I say (I'm a female) even when I know what I'm talking about ("It's a car, and, no, it's not the same thing as the Lancer. You can't order the same parts."), & in this case I don't.

The big c clip goes around the exhaust and the little arm welded to it goes in that exhaust holder

The other hanger thing at looks like an L with the little hook is probably for removing the silencer in the exhaust if you choose to install it

 

So it's not a part that goes on the car at all?

 

I agree for a silncer. Youd unscrew the bolt holding itin, and the flat bend is to hold, other part goes into the silencer, and thehook is to pull it out. No sut on hands.

 

That part is for the silencer. It is so you can get a grip on it when you pull it out! If the silencer didn't come separate, it's probably mounted in the muffler. Just remove it!
