Sweet new Catch Can
Sweet new Catch Can
i am in the middle of a PTE 6466 2.4LR build and had a little pressure problem with my old 2.3,so i figured i needed to be prepared for excessive pressure on the new build.
i had my engine builder drill/tap 8-an holes/with fittngs in the vent side of the valve cover and the cool guys at ETS welded a -10an bung onto my aluminum 4" turbo air inlet pipe.you won't believe how cheap they did it either,$25.thanks again guys.
it seems nobody sells the air inlet pipes in 4" that are setup for a line off the catch can,so i asked ETS if they could make one and they offered to weld me a fitting on the pipe.i am running the two 8-an lines off the VC into the baffled can and then the can has a 10-an outlet that will go into the 4" air inlet pipe.
i searched and searched and it seems like this is best way to set up the catch can system, but none of the widely available catch cans have the two inlets and one outlet especially in basically whatever size you want.the baffles in the catch can are very good and should filter any small solids and liquids that come out of the VC.most of the catch cans i found for sale, just have one inlet and one outlet, some are baffled and some aren't.most have a small 5/16-3/8" fittings which really won't relieve any excess pressure.the JSC Automation cans are truly custom cans and made to order.they are 3 different basic cans but each has different options and fitting sizes as well.
i'll have installed pics in a few weeks after my build is complete.my pics suck as usual but the can is a work of art.it is perfect in every way.i always like getting a product with high quality craftsmanship.
