ACT clutch retaining clip?

I've already searched and read and didn't find any specific information. Just installed a new flywheel, ACT XT clutch and trans with new clutch fork and OEM TOB. TOB will not attach to the retaining clip. I've already looked through the inspection hole, everything looks to be in good shape(Trans went in fine and didn't grab on anything). I can watch it try to grab but just doesn't.

Does ACT not supply the right kind of wave ring/clip/etc.? I did and ACT clutch in my own car and didn't have any problems, but it's been a couple years. I can't remember what I did exactly.

Anybody else have this problem? Do I need to get some OEM type of rings/clips?

Any tricks to fineggle the damn rings I have in there and get them to grab? Really not looking forward to dropping this trans again.

ACT uses the factory Mitsubishi parts so it should install just like stock unless the wedge collar and/or snap ring was bent during installation, which can happen from time to time. As long as everything is fitted properly, the TOB should just snap in place.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm almost positive it's fine. I can take a long stick through the inspection hole and spin the rings and it is still the same shape as when I put the clutch on. I'm just gonna try prying on that damn fork some more and hope it catches if I bang it hard enough

I don't understand, spin what rings? The snap ring is not something you can see through the inspection hole since it is under the diaphragm spring. I wouldn't suggest forcing it or you bend it for sure. It either catches with pretty much just the load of the fork return spring or it won't catch at all and just get damaged by trying to force it.

Do you guys sell the retaining clips? I tried the dealer, they don't sell it separately. I tried ordering it online from STM. They sell a Exedy retaining clip, but have been on back order for several weeks. Don't know of anywhere else to get one. Kind of a strange piece to not be able to easily buy, since if you screw it up you don't have a clutch.

We do not sell the wedge collars seperately at this time, since we don't purchase them seperately. I have seen a number of websites that sell them so I imagine someone has them in stock.
