Seafoam at 45k miles? yes or no?

Hey Everyone,

I just got my Evo X GSR with 42k miles and I'm approaching my 45k oil change. Since I haven't owned the car for the first 42k and have no idea how the other owner took care of the vehicle, I was wondering if I should bother with adding some Seafoam in the oil/ gas tank before I change the oil on Friday? What do you guys think. Besides some standard wear on the vehicle it seems to be in really good condition. What is everyone's input? Also how long would you suggest driving with it 10 miles enough? I would drive to work and back on it Friday but due to bumper to bumper traffic I'm worried someone would run into me if my car is smoking so much.

Seafoam is for old ****. It just cleans out a little carbon build up. Just change your oil and wind the car out just a bit to blow the crap out. Dont rev the hell out of it or anything. Just drive it the way an evo should be driven

I've added it to the oil at the change time with zero problems. I can't see why it should cause you any grief to do it.

Opinions are like butt holes though everyone has one.

Update: Ran Seafoam with about 70miles left on the tank of gas. I only put it into Crank and Gas Tank. Ran on it for about 56 miles before changing my oil and using 1/2quart to flush some old oil out. Oil came out extremely dark good to know I cleaned her out, and on a fresh start under my care

Run it through the brake booster line, let it sit for 15 min, and then go drive it like you stole it. Putting some in the gas tank wouldn't hurt. I wouldn't put any in the crankcase.

Seagrams is excellent in removing carbon buildup. It's a good idea but don't plan on running it hard while its in the system.
